3rd Edition Canada China International Film Festival (September 21-27, 2018)

CCIFF is hosted by Canada China Art-Tech (CCAT), a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering relations and understandings between China and Canada, by connecting stakeholders in art and technology and digital interactive media, pro moting Canadian and Chinese culture, artists to collaborate internationally.

This year is the Canada-China Year of Tourism, the 3rd Edition Canada China International Film Festival is in celebration of this great event.

With 20% of the global market, China has the fastest growing film and television industry in the world. It is about to surpass the United States, traditionally leaders in this sector. The Canada China International Film Festival offers a unique opportunity to explore the potential of this market and develop Sino-Canada business relations. Companies such as China Film Producers’  Association, World Film Report from CCTV-6, and more well-known filmmakers and producers will be present during the event.

Winds of Spring by Keyu Chen (2017, 6min 7s)

Keyu Chen examines this emotionally charged question in her first professional animated film, Winds of Spring, a delicately crafted work that unfolds with the rhythm of the seasons. Based on the filmmaker’s own personal experiences, this tenderly told story opens a window onto something universal.

Director: Keyu Chen       

Born in China, Keyu first came to the National Film Board of Canada’s animation studios through the Équité program as part of the production team for Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre’s animated documentary Jutra. She went on to work on No Fish Where to Go (Nul poisson où aller), directed by Nicola Lemay and Janice Nadeau; Mamie, directed by Janice Nadeau; and Bus Story (Histoires de bus), directed by Tali. Keyu won the 21st edition of the NFB’s Cinéaste recherché(e) competition, allowing her to direct her first professional animated film,  Winds of Spring (Un printemps).

For a period of three days and as part of the CCIFF, the QFTC will organise two Fam tours with Chinese producers.

The first Fam tour will focus on film and TV production.  Participants will visit filming locations, studios, infrastructures, VFX & post-production houses. They will also learn about the province of Quebec's tax incentives and our qualified labor.

The second Fam tour will focus on VR and AR. Participants will meet with Quebec companies which are developing content and technology dedicated to this innovative market.

All of the Chinese Fam Tour participants will be able to meet with QFTC partners and members.

Telle est la question chargée d’émotions qu’aborde Keyu Chen dans son premier film d’animation professionnel, une œuvre délicatement ouvragée qui se déploie au rythme des saisons. Un printemps raconte avec tendresse une histoire basée sur l’expérience de la réalisatrice, qui, en donnant à voir un fragment de vie intime, touche à l’universel.

Originaire de la Chine, par l’entremise du programme Équité, Keyu arrive au Studio d’animation de l’Office national du film du Canada, où elle est intégrée à l’équipe de production du film Jutra, un documentaire animé de Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre. Dans le cadre du Festival international du film Canada Chine, le BCTQ organise deux tournées de familiarisation de trois jours pour des producteurs chinois.

La première tournée, consacrée à la production de films et de séries, permettra aux participants de visiter des lieux de tournages, studios, infrastructures, des boîtes d'effets visuels et post-production. Ce sera aussi une occasion de leur présenter les crédits d'impôts de la province de Québec et de leur parler de notre main-d'œuvre qualifiée.

La deuxième tournée, consacrée à la réalité virtuelle et augmentée permettra aux participants de rencontrer les entreprises québécoises développant du contenu et de la technologie dédiés à ce marché innovant.

作为当代中国最著名的导演之一，张艺谋导演的作品，总能用现代的艺术传承着中国传统美学，将中华文化传播到更宽阔的国际平台上。他的作品，如《大红灯笼高高挂》、《英雄》和《我的父亲母亲》，均获得国际奖项并有极高的国际知名度。第三届中加国际电影节将会带来张艺谋执导的经典影片《红高粱》。

纪录片从张艺谋最新古装电影《影》入手，向观众深入展现了张艺谋导演及其团队对一部电影从筹备到完成制作这一过程中，如何应对困难及挑战，又是如何将中国传统文化元素完美融入到电影中，反映了当代中国电影人的匠心及精神。总制片人穆小勇及团队将会来到中加国际电影节展映现场，与观众分享纪录片制作过程中的想法及经历。

中加国际电影节将在渥太华举行酒会以及展映活动，庆祝中国传统中秋佳节及“中加学者交换项目” 45周年。该活动将在加拿大国家美术馆举行。

《张艺谋和他的“影”》是一部由著名导演汪鹏先生，总制片人穆小勇先生历时3年之久拍摄制作的纪录片。该片记录了张艺谋在拍摄电影《影》的盛况，从各工种的工作人员入手，讲述他们面对挑战时的压力和不懈努力。以小见大，感受中国当下电影人的匠人精神。

9:00-17:00 魁省电影资源发现之旅 (1)

作为中加国际电影节的一部分，魁北克电影电视投资局将为中国制片人举办两场为期三天的电影产业考察活动。

第一个考察活动将会以实景拍摄为主。参与者会前去参观魁北克当地的电影拍摄场景，影棚，基础拍摄设施，及后期制作和视觉特效的公司。与此同时，他们还有机会了解到魁北克的退税政策，以及当地优秀的电影工作者。

另一个考察活动将会以虚拟及增强现实为主。参与者将去参观致力于这个创新市场的多家公司。

两个考察活动的参与者都将有机会和魁北克电视电影投资局的合作伙伴及会员见面。

今年将是中加国际电影节举办的第三年。自2016年9月首届隆重开幕以来，电影节获得了两国各界的广泛关注与支持，成功为中加两国及部分其他国家的优秀电影举办了近百场展映活动及电影研讨会议和讲座；在2017年第二届电影节中，更是首次开展了行业参观与交流及加了中加合作项目对接会等板块，获得了如中国国家电影局、中国电影制片人协会及加拿大影视管理局，加拿大国家电影局等支持。以前两届的成功经验为学习，第三届中加国际电影节在此之上更进一步推广中加两国文化交流，扩大中国文化及电影产业在两国的影响，将电影节从一个会场延伸出去，把影响带给更多的观众，将文化传播事业拓展到更大的版图上。中加国际电影节主席宋淼代表全体团队工作人员，感谢社会各界人士对电影节的大力支持，期待所有热爱电影文化及中国文化的弘扬与传播的朋友相聚本届中加国际电影节。
